'Break Away' Fences and Dog Friendly Rocks.

Late last year I was contracted to build some special FX props for the Channel 7 Drama, A Place To Call Home.

These props included a series of fence railings that needed to be 'Break Away', which meant they were to be broken through safely by a runaway horse. Also some soft replicas of a rock that were scripted to be thrown at a dog.

I was given one of the actual fence railings to work from. Above is the moulding of the original. Probably the longest two part mould I've had to make at 3.6m.

The first 'break away' railing out of the mould.
All 12 of the railings after being painted to match the existing fence.

The railings in situ on location.

Awaiting the stunt nag.

The three soft rocks at the back, with the original and two part mould at the front.
